Maybe people don't understand the rules.
Maybe the players' body-covering uniforms make it difficult for the fans to feel connected to the team.
Maybe people have a problem seeing the puck on the TV.
For whatever reason, hockey hasn't caught the interest of the United States. Baseball, football, basketball and even golf seem to always take the headlines.
As a hockey fan, I find this very baffling, especially when I turn on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays and see a LeBron James dunk beat a Datsyuk no-look back hand pass that ends up in the back of the net.
What's worse is when the NHL has a full, 15 game schedule on a given day and only one highlight will make it into the Top 10 Plays while baseball, basketball and sometimes college football will make up the rest.
