The 2004-2005 lockout season was a devastating event for all hockey fans and the game itself. Hockey became a laughingstock amongst the three other big sports. We missed out on a whole season of hockey and the NHL lost the exposure of ESPN. However, what came of the lockout was a great thing and probably the best thing for the league.
