The Rangers best draft pick in 2009 is first round pick, 19th overall, center Chris Kreider. At least, according to Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News he is.
Kennedy recently did a run-down on each team’s best picks from 2009 and that’s who he picked for the Rangers:
NY Rangers – Chris Kreider, C (19th overall): Speedy as hell, Kreider was great at the world juniors, as was fellow Blueshirts pick Ryan Bourque (80th).
Kreider seems like a strong prospect. Hockey’s Future currently has him ranked as the forth best prospect in the Rangers' system, and had this to say about him:
