The Detroit Red Wings have clinched another playoff birth; their 19th straight. 100-point season; their tenth straight. They find themselves currently sitting in fifth place of the Western Conference. Say what!? Yep, the Detroit Red Wings find themselves currently owning the fifth seed of the Western Conference and barring any setbacks in Chicago on Sunday, and a win by LA, will find themselves there come the start of playoffs. That is the lowest seed the Red Wings have been at the start of the playoffs in 18 years. Niklas Lidstrom has always started the playoffs with home-ice advantage.
