Like most people after the 2-1 loss to the hands of the Boston Bruins on March 21, I thought the New York Rangers were dead in the water.
They had just lost three consecutive games to the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and, of course, to the Bruins, and found themselves seven points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Things sure looked grim on Broadway.
Since then, however, the Blueshirts have been able to gain control of their ship, and now find themselves just two points behind the Philadelphia Flyers for the final playoff spot.
They have a home-and-home set for this weekend, the first of which is slated for 7 p.m. tonight at Madison Square Garden, with the second at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.
Don't get your hopes up just yet, though. ...
