In need of a little depth because of the Sean Avery injury, the Rangers have recalled 25-year-old center Corey Locke from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Locke is listed at 5′9″ and 189 lbs. He has one game of NHL experience back in 2007-08 with the Montreal Canadiens, the team that drafted him in the fourth round back in the 2003 draft. He’s played 73 games with the Wolf Pack this season and he’s picked up 29 goals and 51 assists for a total of 80 points.
It’s hard to say what line he’ll be on if he plays at all, but the Rangers needed an extra body thanks to the leg injury Avery sustained against the Maple Leafs the other night. Speaking of Toronto, this kid is actually a Toronto native.
