As the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver draw near, all the talk continues to be about just who will suit up and represent team Canada in their quest for gold.
While Steve Yzerman and company have the troublesome task of finalizing their 23-man roster, I thought it be a good time to look back and select a Canadian Olympic dream team from the past thirty years.
Since 1920 Canada has won seven gold medals, four silver's, and two bronze in 19 Olympic appearences.
NHL players did not compete up until the 1998 games in Nagano, and in fact the teams lowest placing ever was at the 2006 games in Turin, where they finished 7th. So much for needeing the pro's.
On that note, here is a look at some past Olympians that have shone brightly while wearing the maple leaf.
