According to Anthony SanFilippo, the Philadelphia Flyers will waive defenseman Randy Jones either today or tomorrow. The move will clear up $2.75 million and will allow the Flyers to carry Blair Betts, Mika Pyorala and James van Riemsdyk.
If Jones clears waivers, heÆll be sent to the Adirondack Phantoms where heÆll play the 2009-10 season. His contract will not count against the cap. If a team claims him straight off waivers, Jones will no longer be a problem for the Flyers because theyÆll be off the hook for his $2.75 million contract. If he is put on re-entry waivers and claimed, his contract will be split in halfá between the Flyers and the claiming team.
