In an effort to get Simon Gagne going, it appears as if Flyers head coach John Stevens will give a new line a chance. Already nicknamed the “French Connection” line, with Gagne lining up with Claude Giroux and Ian Laperriere, the line has the potential to be very potent.
Gagne, who has yet to find the back of the net, has played decently and has four assists to show for his efforts through seven games, but, having scored 34 goals in 2008-09, the Flyers need to get him going if they are going to be a legitimate Stanley Cup threat.
For his part, Giroux is the perfect compliment to Gagne. His ability to distribute the puck should make Gagne and Giroux and excellent one-two punch, while Laperriere will use his rugged style of play to keep the checkers at bay and c ...
