Philadelphia dominated from the drop of the puck, outshooting the Devils 34-19, including 18-4 in the third period and overtime. Ilya Kovalchuk and Patrik Elias were each held without a shot in the game. Kovalchuk had six shots total in Games One and Two, and 25 in his five previous games as a Devil against the Flyers.
A big reason for the lack of production from New Jersey's big guns could be the game-high 31:03 minutes played by Chris Pronger.
Pronger had an assist, was plus-two, had four hits, two shots, and four blocked shots.
