The Canadian Olympic team announced their 2010 roster which included a whoÆs who of NHL hockey talent. It was no surprise that NHL standouts such as Jarome Iginla, Sidney Crosby, and Joe Thornton were selected. What was a surprise was the selection of sophomore defenseman Drew Doughty. Equally impressive was that Doughty was selected over all stars such as the Capitals Mike Green, CalgaryÆs Jay Boumeister and the Blackhawks Brian Campbell.
Green lost out over Doughty even though he scored an impressive 31 goals for Washington. Drew was selected over Boumeister even though he possessed veteran experience having been in the league many more years.
