According to ESPN's John Buccigross, a three-way deal involving the San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and the Ottawa Senators is on the verge of being completed.
While the GM's are mum and have not made it official thus far, initial reports (also by NHL.com) suggest that San Jose will be Dany Heatley's new home while Patrick Marleau will head to Los Angeles.
The Senators will get Jarret Stoll and Alexander Frolov.
With the start of training camp on the horizon, it is now or never for moving Heatley (or at least in not in the near future). As GM Bryan Murray looks to deal the embattled star, he has indicated that if Heatley is not traded by the start of camp, he will be expected to show up to camp.
A sentiment echoed by Heatley himself.
