Little did we know how good it would really be.
But when Zach Parise scored with less than a minute left in regulation of the gold medal game, an entire Nation came to a stand-still in shock and disbelief. So close they could taste it, yet the celebration that was just seconds from beginning had be put on hold.
And just as quickly as the Nation was forced back into their seats, Sidney Crosby lifted them higher than ever before.
The shot heard 'round the world. Or at least North America.
