Rarely does a professional hockey player find themselves being released from an NHL team, playing overseas in a European league, and then finding their way back to an NHL team in the thick of a playoff hunt.
But for Montreal Canadiens forward Glen Metropolit, that is exactly where he finds himself this season.
The 35-year-old journeyman from Toronto has seen his fare share of minor league hockey teams before finally finding a home in Montreal. And when I say his fare share, I mean his more than fare share.
Metropolit began his professional career in the East Coast Hockey League with the Nashville Knights in Tennessee. In the Music City, "Mets" was a star on the team playing in 58 games for the Knights while amassing 62 points.
