At the end of last season, and even coming into this season, not a lot was expected of the Colorado Avalanche.á As a matter of fact, the only place they could have gone was up.
And, there were reasons a plenty for the lack of expectations.á The loss of Ryan Smyth, the deterioration of the defensive corps, the lack of skill players with scoring potential, the loss of the ultimate Captain in Joe Sakic, and the lack, or so we thought, of a true No. 1 goalkeeper.
However, we're now 11 games in to this 2009-2010 campaign, and the Avalanche are showing sings of being a good team.á Dare I say a legitimate team?
