The 2009-2010 season was one of the most anticipated years in the history of the Hurricanes time in North Carolina.
It was also one of the most disappointing.
The season began with a franchise record-tying 14 game losing streak in October/November, and things didn't begin to look up until late January, when any hope of success was all but out of the question.
Although the 'Canes did find a consistent winning pattern in the second half of the season, it appears that with just five games left and a seven point deficit to overcome, the 11th-place Hurricanes aren't going to make it past 82 games.
However, no season ever comes and goes without its fair share of memories, both good and bad.
