The move comesáa day after it was announced that defenseman Toni Lydmanáhas a hand injury.
The opening space on the already-packed Sabres defensiveáunitáwas granted to the 19-year-old Myersáwhile Mike Weber, another promising young defenseman,áwas sent down to Portland of the AHL.
Myers, a rookie,áis allowed to play nine games in the NHL before the Sabres need to make a final decision.
