This isn't going to be a long article. I am going to get straight to the point.
Whether or not you want to blame Jimmy Howard on his lackluster performance, or blame the fact the Red Wings couldn't finish, or even blame the fact that Ilya Bryzgalov stood tall in the Phoenix net, it all comes down to this:
Al Sobotka dropped the octopus while waving it around (as he usually does) before the puck was dropped.
Whether this had nothing to do with the game, or it was a sign for things to come, Mr. Al Sobotka: Please do not drop the octopus tonight. It is the most important game for the Red Wings this season!
So tonight, if Al waves the octopus around better than he did prior to Game Three, and as he is most famous for doing, the Wings will win this game and all will be well in Hockeyt ...
