Three Dog Night once told us that one is the loneliest number. For the Chicago Blackhawks, it is now the most daunting.
After a stunning 7-4 win in Game Five of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Blackhawks have an opportunity to win their first Stanley Cup since 1961 on Wednesday night in Philadelphia. The Hawks came out of the dressing room with what was universally considered their best effort of the playoffs, and perhaps the entire season, and buried the Flyers right out of the gate.
"We didn't want to put on a show," said Kris Versteeg. "We wanted to play a gritty game and I think that's what we did in the first 20 minutes. That's the best 20 we've played all season."
