According to the New York Daily News, Giants rookie wide receiver Hakeem Nicks only suffered a mild sprain of the ankle in Sunday's game against the Redskins.
Nicks was carted off yesterday, then came back onto the field on crutches, but the sprain is much better news than if it were a fracture or break.
Because of the injury, Nicks will miss approximately 2-3 weeks, which means Nicks will not be playing in Week 2 against the Cowboys.
The Giants were looking to mix Nicks in with their depth of wide receivers in the offensive passing game yesterday and Nicks started to get his feet wet in a real NFL game, catching two passes for 18 yards before getting hurt.
