After spending six seasons with the Patriots, tight end Ben Watson has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Watson has spent the last week looking for a home, including visiting Pete Carroll's Seahawks on Monday.
Thursday he arrived in Cleveland and met with team officials, by Friday morning, he had agreed to the deal.
Back in 2004, Watson was a first-round pick (32nd overall) and came with a lot of hype.
The 6'2", 255-pound, seven-year veteran out of Georgia should add some more explosiveness to the lacking Browns offense.
His athleticism draws parallels to other NFL star tight ends such as Tony Gonzalez.
Unfortunately, during his first few seasons, he lacked serious production and it's been a battle for starting time ever since.
