As the coaching vacancies across the football world continue to heat up, Mike Shanahan is the top candidate on the list.
The Washington Redskins have initiated a great deal of contact with Mike. The Dallas Cowboys could be interested if Jerry Jones lets Wade Phillips go. Also, the Chicago Bears may be interested, assuming Lovie Smith gets the boot.
These three franchises have represented the NFL for quite a long time, and that interests Shanahan.
However, the Buffalo Bills apparently don't fit his standards.
According to a few sources, especially Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, head coach Mike Shanahan has removed himself from consideration for the Bills job. The Bills' front office had had multiple contacts with Shanahan since the search began last month.
