In 1979, after becoming diagnosed with melanoma, a cancer that would later take his life, Bob Marley began recording what would be his final album, Uprising. His mother Rita labeled itáa concept album, conveying the pain he was in during his final days and how he was dealing with his own mortality.
The last track on the album is titled Redemption Song, which rated No. 66 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.á
I'm not sure how Marley would feel about Michael Vick if he were still alive today, but if I were to guess, I'd think he would be rooting for Vick in his second chance at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
