1. That the weather in London stays good
It is a known fact that, for all of the NFLÆs hype about taking the game to England, the turf at Wembley Stadium is far from being up to NFL standard. In 2007 we had the mudbath that was the Dolphins/Giants game. Last year a sustained dry spell meant that the Steelers and Saints got to play on probably as good a surface as London can provide.
This year, the weather in England has been reasonably dry and mild, but there are rainclouds gathering. The British public have bought more tickets than ever before. It would be a shame if the weather now caused the pitch to fall apart again.
IÆve also got a purely selfish reason for wanting the weather to stay good. Wembley has to be the coldest modern stadium in the world. For some ...
