You read that headline right. Per Jason Taylor's representatives, it seems as though the signing is no longer a matter of "if", instead just a matter of "when".
Don't expect it to be official this weekend, but by the end of next week you should see Jason Taylor holding up a green and white jersey with his name on it. He might even make up with Fireman Ed too (but I doubt it).
Mike Berardino of the Sun Sentinel reported earlier today that someone close to Taylor said "it looks like New York is the spot".
The price for the Jets will most likely be the previously reported offer of 2 years at $3.5 million. They seem to be ironing out minor details of the contract as of now before anything is put in writing and signed.
While the effect he has for the Jets' powerhouse defense could be fair ...
