With the recent losses of Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and Brian Dawkins a few years back, the Eagles seem to be in a state of disarray in the way of team captains and leaders.
Philadelphia now has the youngest team in the entire NFL, which means a lack of experience and more than anything a lack of direction.
Players on the Eagles offense regarded McNabb as the one to lead them game after game. No matter how the end result was, they always held him in the highest regards.
On defense it was Brian Dawkins who was the man. He hit hard. He played hard. And most of all he was a good leader. No one was better at rallying the team than Dawkins with his booming voice and great enthusiasm.
