Controversial Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has been suspended and may be cut loose from Kansas City.
Further decisions will be made after an NFL decision on the matter.
Johnson, formerly a top running back in the NFL, has seen his career take a turn for the worse in the last two years.
Johnson had rushed for consecutive 1,700-plus yard seasons and played a full 32 games in 2005 and 2006, but he has totaled just 1,118 yards in 27 games over the last three seasons.
