The Indianapolis Colts announced this morning that they have signed Matt Stover, the former kicker for the Baltimore Ravens.
The move came as a result of an injury to Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, who is out four to eight weeks after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to remove a piece of cartilage.
After the Colts left Baltimore in 1984 in the middle of the night, then proceeded to dominate the series against the new-born Ravens, fans in Baltimore have built a level of hatred against the team from Indianapolis.
In the 2006 season, the Colts were welcomed back to Baltimore for the first playoff game between the two, with Indianapolis winning the defensive grudge-match 15-6. Currently, the Ravens have lost six straight in the series.
