After two straight wins against division foes, the 49ers are alone atop the NFC West with a sterling record of 2-0. They dispatched the reigning NFC Champions in Week 1 in the desert and then the only other undefeated team in the Division, the Seattle Seahawks. Without a doubt, this season shows promise but then again so did 2005; which was the last time the 49ers entered Week 3 with a record of 2-0, and preceded to lose a horrific eight consecutive contests and eight of their last 11 games to finish 5-11.
