It's amazing how quickly a season can go miserably down the toilet.
The Giants finished up their season Sunday with a half-hearted butt-kicking at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings, 44-7.á
Today's game, of course, was just a formality: The Vikings were already in the playoffs with a bye, while the Giants were eliminated the week before in a pathetic loss to the 8-8 Carolina Panthers.
Despite starting 5-0, the wins were not all impressive, save a 33-31 defeat of the Cowboys in Dallas. They then went on to lose eight of their next 11 games, giving up 40-plus points in five of those eight losses.
The Giants rank 28th in the league in terms of points allowed.
