Usually, there are very strong emotions one way or the other when it comes to college football fans and Notre Dame. But not me.
I am that rare football fan who doesn't hate the Irish, nor do I love the Irish.
But I really like the pro potential of one Jimmy Clausen.
It seems that a lot of so-called draft gurus have Sam Bradford being the top QB in the draft, and I understand that.
But they're wrong.
Clausen may not have the pedigree of a Bradford or even a Tim Tebow despite all his warts. But the kid can play.
He is easily the most pro-ready of the major college QBs and I think pro player personnel from NFL teams also see this and so Clausen will not fall as far as you might think.
Sure, Bradford will be picked well before Clausen. The Rams seem to love him. But you mark my words ...
