Tony Scheffler was the kind of tight end most teams would love to have on their rosters.
His quickness allowed him to split the seam against slower linebackers, but he still had the strength to hold his own in blocking situations.
He was also involved in a rift with Josh McDaniels and was unceremoniously shown the door in a three-way trade in which the Broncos received just a fifth-round pick for the tight end and their seventh-rounder.
The Denver Broncos already had a host of holes on the roster coming into the draft. Add to that the recent trade of Brandon Marshall, which opened up a hole at wide receiver, and things get mystifying for the Broncos in the early rounds of the draft.
