The Atlanta Falcons finished the 2009 season ranked 21st overall in total defense in the NFL giving up and average of 20.3 points per game. Now that doesnÆt seem like too much over the league average which was right around 20 points per game, but the Falcons were only able to muster up 22.7 points per contest. Now you would think they should be 16-0 with that comparison but as we all know, the average does not always tell the full story. Though they gave up the same amount of points all season; 325 PA, [while scoring 391 PF] as they did last year with a mark of 11-5, this season they only scored 363 points for, a drop of 28 points from last season.
