One of the most prolific scorers in NBA history has decided to hang up the shoes. It has been reported that Allen Iverson, "The Answer" has retired from professional basketball.
The former No. 1 pick from Georgetown in 1996 is in the top six in nearly every offensive category. Right from the start, Iverson showed how dangerous he was winning rookie of the year, and soon went on to win four scoring titles, league MVP, and 10 all star appearances.
During the 2000-2001 season, Iverson led Philadelphia to its first NBA Finals appearance since 1983, which prior to the 2008 Phillies, was the last sports championship in the city of Philadelphia. The 76ers would lose the NBA Finals to the Los Angeles Lakers and after that things went downhill for Allen in Philadelphia.
