Comments Off on Pacers No. 10 Pick to Oklahoma City for Eric Maynor, 18th, and 21st Picks?

The Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder are in serious talks about sending Eric Maynor, the 18th, and the 21st picks for the No. 10 pick from Indiana.

Overall, why not make this deal happen if you’re both teams?

Oklahoma City gets the big man they covet, in someone like Ed Davis. Also, the Thunder would still have the No. 26 pick tonight.

Then, Indiana gets a point guard that they need in Eric Maynor. Indiana can draft Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe, Avery Bradley, Hassan Whiteside, or Daniel Orton with the 18th and 21st picks.

The Pacers had Eric Maynor in the top five on their draft board last year. So, it works out for Larry Bird who targeted him.

Maynor could slide in at point guard for the Indiana Pacers. I believe T.J. Ford will be traded this summer and Earl Watson will not get re-signed by the Pacers.

On the other hand, the Thunder get a big man who can block shots and score in the paint. That’s what they would get with Ed Davis, who I still expect to be available at No. 10 tonight.

When you put it all together, the Pacers get the point guard they need with two draft picks to go along with it. Then, Oklahoma City gets a big man at No. 10.

Oklahoma City and Indiana still have about eight hours to get this deal finalized. I expect this trade to be announced when the Pacers are on the clock at No. 10.

This trade makes way too much sense to not get done. It would help both Indiana and Oklahoma City if this it were to happen.
