It's obvious the New York Knicks will have to play past their potential if they wish to reach the postseason for the first time since the '03-'04 season. They finished with a 34-48 record last season en route to an 11th-place finish in the Eastern Conference.á The team has no concrete future, only hope, as they feature eight players whose contracts expire at the end of the season.
The irony of the Knicks' situation is that many of these players will log-in significant minutes during this crucial upcoming season. Donnie Walsh and company must try their best to show the greatest city in the world what good has come out of their overhauling if they wish to lure the greatest player in the world to the big apple.
