I know there's an unwritten rule that the game is called differently in the last 30 seconds or so, and I get that refs (and fans) don't want games decided at the free-throw line, but Kevin Durant got fouled last night on that last-second three-pointer.
The refs swallowed their whistles and the Jazz won the overtime "classic," 140-139.
Except it wasn't a classic—because no classic can ever end with the the wrong score and winner.
Look at the replay—C.J. Miles clearly makes contact with Durant's shooting arm. No one can make a deep jumper when their shooting hand or wrist is impeded.
If I'm a defender and I know the refs aren't going to call that, then I will always make the contact—it creates an unfair situation.
