Steve Kerr will not be returning as General Manager of the Phoenix Suns when his contract expires June 30.
KTAR's John Gambadoro is reporting that Kerr was not forced out or fired but has cited wanting to spend more time with his family as the main reason.
His son is a senior at a San Diego high school and Kerr wanted to be able to attend more games without having to commute between Phoenix and San Diego.
Kerr also will be returning to the TV booth, likely replacing Doug Collins who will coach the Philadelphia 76ers next season.
David Griffin, the Suns Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, is likely to be a top candidate for the position.
Kerr will stay with the team through the draft before leaving June 30.Read more NBA news on BleacherReport.com ...
