According to Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com, the Atlanta Braves have signed infielder Troy Glaus to a one-year, incentive-based deal.
This could very well be the bat that Braves GM Frank Wren had been mentioning. Glaus is expected to play first base for the Braves; however, he has only played six gamesáof his 1,360 appearances at first.
The Braves have made a strong move to add a veteran run produceráto the lineup. Glaus has hit 20 or more HR eight times in his career, the last coming iná2008áwhen he hit 27 homers.
The deal implies that Glaus will be the bridge to highly touted prospect Freddie Freeman.áHe is expected to make his debut in the majors around the 2011-2012 seasons.
