Last season, the Yankees and Mets went in different directions. The Yankees had everything fall their way and stayed healthy in route to a World Series championship. The Mets had a ton of injuries in route to a disappointing and disastrous play. Could it really be happening yet again?
Well, if the recent events are any indication, yes. Mets fans once again seem on a path to disappointment. We already knew Carlos Beltran would be unavailable for a while and start the year on the DL. Then Jose Reyes had his thyroid issue, and you can come to your own conclusion on the cause. Reyes recently returned and has begun playing in minor league games. The Mets have now announced that Reyes will join Beltran and begin the season on the DL. He should return fairly quickly however.
