For the first time in nearly a decade, the Seattle Mariners head to Opening Day with high expectations.
Last season, the Mariners had the biggest turnaround in the MLB, turning its awful 101-loss campaign in 2008 into a successful 85-77.
This was followed with the frenzy of moves by general manager Jack Zduriencik, who loaded up the roster with seven new players, including ace Cliff Lee and speedy Chone Figgins.
While penciling the Mariners atop the AL West has been this winter's hot trend, each team in the division has undergone some roster face lifts, and it appears there will be an intense battle for the postseason.
