Texas Rangers manager and former MLB infielder Ron Washington has admitted he used cocaine during the first half of last season.
Reports indicate he tested positive for the drug last July and has since completed a drug treatment program. He also stated he had notified Rangers and MLB officials about the usage and entered the treatment program.
The Texas Rangers, in a statement released on their website, that Washington claimed he only used the drug once.
Washington offered to resign, but club president Nolan Ryan, general manager Jon Daniels and other officials decided not to accept the offer after they were convinced that Washington had used cocaine just once.
