The Seattle Mariners have discussed a possible trade for Toronto first baseman Lyle Overbay, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Overbay hit .265 with 16 HR, 64 RBI, 112 H, .372 OBP, 74 BB, .466 SLG in 432 AB.
His 74 walks would have been a Mariner team high.
His on-base/slugging percentage and 35 doubles would have been good for the team's second best mark.
His 64 RBI would have been good for fourth on the team last year, Franklin Gutierrez had 70 but only drove in six more runs in 133 more ABs. His .265 average would have tied Adrian Beltre for fourth on the team.
Overbay's 16 HRs, 112 Hs, and 57 Rs would have been good for fifth on the team.
Seems like someone we should definitely take a look at if the price is right, as he ranks no lower than fifth in every offensive category ...
