Coming in at #28 on my list is 2009 draftee Ryan Berry. Berry was a standout at Rice University, where he helped lead the Owls to two conference titles and back-to-back College World Series berths.
Berry finished his career with a 26-10 record and a 3.06 ERA. His strikeout rate was well over 8.0 K per nine, while his walk rate was under three. Berry thrust himself onto the stage his freshman year, leading an Owls staff that included Phillies standout Joe Savery. Berry pitched more consistently and had better numbers than Savery...as a FRESHMAN!
