If the Redbirds win the city’s 17th professional championship and the 14th in the city’s baseball history, let it be known that not too many people in Memphis have taken notice of the success story that has been the Redbirds in the postseason.
On the strength of Trent Hamilton’s homer in the sixth inning, the Redbirds inched ever so close to the first pro championship for this city since the defunct Memphis Xplorers won the AF2 championship in 2005.
