There has been a lot of hoopla surrounding the NHL Entry Draft every year, and usually it surrounds the top picks, who usually end up going on to have superb NHL careers. Of course, for every top pick that succeeds, there are also some that absolutely bomb.
On the opposite end, there are also those that don't get picked in the first, or even the second round, but turn out to ...
2010 NHL Draft: Bruins pick Tyler Seguin with 2nd Overall Pick
Posted: 25th June 2010 by Cory Ducey in NHL
The Boston Bruins picked Tyler Seguin as the second overall pick of the 2010 NHL Draft.
Seguin is a welcomed addition to the offensive core, which suffered greatly in the 2009-10 campaign.
With the recent signing of Nathan Horton and the resigning of Mark Recchi, it seems that the Bruins are beefing up on the offensive power and could setup another multiple-scoring line to keep the opposition busy for the 2010-11 season.
Seguin played with the Plymouth ...

Posted: 25th June 2010 by James Crider in NHL
Who?
This is the question many fans were asking themselves when the Avalanche selected forward Joey Hishon 17th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. I'm not sure I have an answer.
Hishon is an undersized center who's played the past three years with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League. His best statistical season was in 2008-2009, when he registered 37 goals and 81 points in 65 games.
However, ...

NHL Draft Results: New York Rangers Go Off the Board and Draft Dylan McIlrath
Posted: 25th June 2010 by Greg Caggiano in NHL
With top-five ranked defenseman Cam Fowler still on the board and top-ten Brandon Gormley, the Rangers chose to go past them and take fifteenth-ranked physical defenseman Dylan McIlrath.
This move came as a complete shock, especially with two great defenseman available and goaltender Jack Campbell, whom analyst Russ Cohen suggested the Rangers draft.
Needless to say, I was disappointed at the pick. Personally, I wanted Tarasenko, but ...

Steve Yzerman certainly knows how to make an entrance. The new General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning stunned many of the experts by selecting Prince George (WHL) center Brett Connolly with the sixth overall selection in the NHL Draft.
Connolly was believed to be one of the top prospects available for this year's entry draft, but a severe hip injury limited the 2009 WHL and CHL Rookie of the Year ...
2010 NHL Entry Draft: Taylor Hall Goes First , Tyler Seguin Second
Posted: 25th June 2010 by Mark Ritter in NHL
As expected, the Edmonton Oilers used the No. 1 pick to select Taylor Hall, while the Boston Bruins selected Tyler Seguin with the second overall pick. Hall, who won back-to-back Memorial Cups and Memorial Cup MVPs, gives the Oilers a very talented offensive-minded forward who should bring a certain amount of cache and respect back to the fledgling Oilers franchise. In Seguin, the Bruins get a player who ...
Rumors are circulating that the Anaheim Ducks have a proposal on the table that would send Corey Perry and the Ducks second round pick (42nd overall) to the Toronto Maple Leafs in return for highly coveted defenseman Tomas Kaberle and disgruntled forward Nikolai Kulemin.
In Perry, the Leafs would get a top flight right winger who can play in all situations. Through 368 career games with the Ducks, Perry has ...
