We are heading into the dead part of the 2010 NFL offseason and teams aren’t doing much right now aside from having the occasional mini camp, enjoying some vacation and trying to come up with new ways to win games in 2010. The team has added some players at critical positions while at others, they are relying on last year’s guys to help them win. Are these the ...
The Titans' backfield has suddenly gotten a little crowded after selecting LeGarratte Blount and Stafon Johnson in last month's draft.
This is a good dilemma to have, but the Titans' coaching staff will have their hands full on sorting out all of these very talented running backs.
Currently there are six running backs not named Chris Johnson on the Titans' roster, and one of those will basically be the replacement of recently ...
Defensive Problems will Kill the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010
Posted: 10th May 2010 by Joe Mintzer in NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles have a young, talented offense. That offense consists of quarterback Kevin Kolb, wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, tight end Brent Celek, and tailback LeSean McCoy. All of them are 25 and under.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Eagles' offense will be good. However, it isn't the offense I'm worried about.
The Eagles defense is nowhere near where it was a few years ago. Granted, ...
The summer is looming. As OTAs commence, and rookies receive their opportunities, however small, to crack the 53 man roster. The Green Bay Packers are one of two top teams in the NFC North, and look to make it back to the playoffs after the high flying, adrenaline pumping game 51-45 loss against the Cardinals. To go further, the Pack must make the right moves in the summer. It all ...
Brian Cushing was destined for greatness.
After just one full season as an NFL player, Texans outside linebacker Brian Cushing was looking like the NFL's next great linebacker.
He recorded 113 total tackles, two forced fumbles and four interceptions in his rookie season.
Not a bad start, huh?
Cushing won Defensive Rookie of the Year Honors by a landslide. He amassed 39 of a possible 50 first place votes.
However, Cushing has been suspended ...
Chan, Uncle Ralphie, Cousin Buddy, and the Buffalo Bills in the Land of Oz

It's true: I'm shameless. Last year, around this time, I pimped an article by heading it "Bills Win Superbowl."
This year, some word play with the names of people we would rather not be the ones upon whose shoulders our team and city's fate now rests, is my best shot at grabbing readers. No one would fall for the Superbowl tag again, and not because it would be the second year ...
Alabama Crimson Tide’s Recent Success Underscored as More Players Reach the NFL
Posted: 10th May 2010 by Walter Kirkwood in NFL
In 2010 the Alabama Crimson Tide scored two first-rounders in the NFL draft and several other players were drafted. Those numbers were expected, but what has really impressed many is the number of players who signed free-agent contracts after the draft. Not getting drafted is not the career death sentence it once was. The NFL draft at one time had 12 rounds. Back then guys picked in ...

No Surprises: Rams and Cowboys Finalize Carpenter-Barron Trade
Posted: 10th May 2010 by David Leon in NFL
As expected, the st. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys finalized their Carpenter-Barron Trade this morning. There were no surprises. The trade is a straight-up one-for-one deal with no exchange of draft picks involved.
The trade has been characterized as an exchange of two disappointing 1st round draft picks by both sides. In this deal, the Cowboys will acquire a reserve swing-tackle and potential starter. The Rams will acquire a good ...
Miami Dolphins: Are They Placing Too Much Faith in The FS Position?
Posted: 10th May 2010 by Paul Smythe in NFL
Please check out my Dolphins blog here: Miami Dolphins Blog
So, there hasn't been much to talk about the FS position since the NFL draft, so I thought I would start some again.
This is mainly because I feel like the Dolphins are placing too much faith in the current players on the roster at free safety.
After last years passing defense performed poorly you would think that Miami would try and fix ...
