The 75th Annual NFL Draft has come and gone. When I look at how the Philadelphia Eagles approached, I keep repeating the number thirteen. If one third of the their draft picks don’t make the final roster, eight rookies is still a lot of young talent.
The fact that Philly drafted this many players is no surprise to me. With the limitations on free agency this uncapped year, it was important ...
The Tennessee Titans are a team that has relied heavily on a stout defense in passed years. In 2008, they ranked seventh in yards allowed and second in points allowed. The defense shutdown opposing running backs and created many turnovers in the passing game.
Coming into the 2009 season, the same was expected. However, one extremely important piece was missing: Big Al. Without a dominant defensive line, the defense as a ...
Coming into the 2010 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans were hoping to fill holes in the secondary and in the backfield.
An additional need was adding a defensive tackle along with building overall depth throughout the roster.
It's hard to argue against the notion that the Texans are a team on the rise.
As such, there are not many holes on the roster. With the luxury of an improved team, the Texans were able ...

The Chicago Bears' 2009 draft, which was depleted after trading for Jay Cutler, made little to no noise in its first season, outside of Johnny Knox. Jarron Gilbert and Henry Melton, the "top" picks, saw little and no playing time, respectively.
Once again, missing a 1st round pick to the Cutler trade and their 2nd from Gaines Adams, who tragically passed away, the Bears were once again short on ammunition this ...
This isn't a article about the draft or if it was worth it to get Ryan Mathews versus the picks the Chargers gave up for him. This is an article on the man they did draft, the man that will take over one of the most sought after positions in the league. He will be taking over a position for a team that has one of the most dangerous passing ...
The Philadelphia Eagles Rookie Free Agents: An Answer at Cornerback?
Posted: 25th April 2010 by Leo Pizzini in NFL
So far, the Eagles have signed eight rookie free agents following the 2010 NFL draft. That brings the roster total to 79. When camp opens they will be restricted to 80 players, but likely will carry a few extra during the OTAs.
Out of the eight free agents there are three receivers, two running backs, a quarterback, a defensive tackle and a promising cornerback. All but two are offensive players.
Blue Cooper ...
During free agency, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where almost nowhere to be found. They made a minor trade acquiring wide receiver Reggie Brown from the Eagles. They also signed safety Sean Jones and linebacker Jon Alston. But other than that, the Bucs were on the sidelines watching teams make big trades and free agent signings. Fans didn't take the inactivity from One Buc Place well. Many have questioned the true ...
Minnesota Vikings 2010 Draft Frightens and Confuses Fans
Posted: 25th April 2010 by JP Frederick in NFL
The Minnesota Vikings spent the NFL draft prioritizing the backup running back position; drafting a quarterback who will play wide receiver and a linebacker who will play fullback; and selecting Penn State's backup tight end.
And their fans looked on and wondered: Why?
Why not trade up for potential starting offensive lineman such as Mike Iupati or Maurkice Pouncey? Why allow Detroit to snag Jahvid Best? Why draft a high-upside, underachiever from ...
The Rolling Stones once sung, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need."
Those lyrics could apply to the way the Colts handled the 2010 draft.
Locals were hoping to land a big play maker for the return game, someone like Notre Dame's Golden Tate. But there was no highly touted specialist taken, no flashy scat-back, not even a dual-threat ...
