Michael Beasley Trade: Timberwolves Fans Should Be Ecstatic
Posted: 10th July 2010 by Bhemis Parks in NBA
Apparently the second time around was the charm for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
After trying to originally trade up in the 2008 draft to acquire Michael Beasley, they finally landed him early Friday morning in a deal with Miami.
A deal that was essentially Beasley for nothing at all. Actually it was a second round pick in next year's draft and a swapping of future first round picks.
In Michael Beasley, the ...

Portland Trail Blazers Sign Wesley Matthews to an Offer Sheet
Posted: 10th July 2010 by Ryan Virgin in NBA
The Portland Trail Blazers signed Utah guard Wesley Matthews to a offer sheet.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Oregonian and Jason Quick have placed the offer at somewhere around 5 years, $34 million.
Matthews, who has played for the Utah Jazz since he was signed after going undrafted out of Marquette, is the second Jazz player the Blazers have gone after.
Last summer it was Utah big man ...
What could the self appointed "Chosen One" learn from a guy like John Stockton?
A lot.
But for the sake of this article we will narrow it down to one quality trait.
Loyalty.
We all know loyalty can be a rare commodity these days, but for the NBA's elite, loyalty is usually not a problem. Superstars may threaten to jump ship from time to time as Kobe most recently did in LA, but most ...
I've changed a lot of my views regarding this move. I've tried to look at it from LeBron's viewpoint, and when you do that, it seems a lot less ridiculous. Who wouldn't want to play with their friends, especially when their friends happen to be basketball studs?
Who wouldn't want to win five championships without having to bear the full load? Who wouldn't want to...play with Dwyane Wade?
You know ...
NBA Help Still Wanted: The 20 Best Remaining Free Agents
Posted: 10th July 2010 by Brian Mosgaller in NBA
With no scarcity of media coverage, the big free agent domino, the King, fell and all the other big pieces followed.
It was exciting stuff, with the Big Three forming an evil empire with Pat Riley, Carlos Boozer giving the Bulls the perfect power forward fit they needed to pair with Derrick Rose, Amar’e Stoudemire reuniting with Mike D’Antoni, and David Lee heading west to put up monster numbers alongside Monta ...
How LeBron James’ Choice Helps Pave the Way for the Ultimate Heel Turn
Posted: 10th July 2010 by Dannie Haynes in NBA
The NBA has become too complacent.
Ever since the famed Malice at the Palace, every NBA player has been on relatively good behaviour. It came to its climax upon the Lakers game winning put back by non-other than Ron Artest, the ultimate bad boy in today’s NBA.
And how did he react? By blubbering and praising the Lord while displaying his softer side that has been nonexistent since that frightful ...
With the new superstar trio started up in Miami, there have been numerous blogs, blurbs, and tweets about Allen Iverson jumping on the band wagon in an attempt to obtain a championship. The Heat have minimal amount of cap-room available to put together a great plethora of role players to complement the new big three.
Sure, Iverson is a multiple-time all-star. Yes, he was the MVP nine years ago. Indeed, ...
LeBron James has lost his chance to three-peat as regular season MVP.
Since the regular season MVP award is basically only considered in the annals of "Greatest Player Ever" discussions and Hall of Fame voting, and since LeBron already has the latter locked down and just signed his way out of the former, his MVP chances are effectively dead.
The NBA Most Valuable Player Award is an honor given to the most ...
Why Can’t We Be Friends? James, Wade, and Bosh Setting a Horrible Example
Posted: 10th July 2010 by Benny Vargas in NBA
Let me preface this story by saying I am a Miami Heat fan. Therefore, I am stoked that we were able to land the three marquee free agents this offseason.
With that said, there is one glaring concern that comes to mind. There was a time when you respected your competition but in no way were you "close friends" with them.
Magic Johnson and Larry Bird respected each other off the court ...
