MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that the Yankees have signed 17-year-old Venezuelan catcher Rainiero Coa. The original report comes from Annelida Yoris Rivas at the Venezuelan paper Nueva Prensa . Here's a little more from MLBTR:
A lengthy bio in the decidedly lo-fi Diario el Progreso gives more details: Coa is a recently converted third baseman/shortstop whose hitting in international junior tournaments drew interest from a number of clubs. ...
After being outscored 24-6 in the first two games against New York, the Boston offense took out their frustrations on A.J. Burnett in a 9-3 win Sunday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox scored at least nine runs for the third time in seven games. The loss ended the Yankees five-game winning streak. Leading 1-0, Boston exploded for five runs off Burnett in the bottom of the third ...
It’s no secret that fans across the nation cringe at the sight of a poor performance from their team on a given night.

Despite Clayton Kershaw's brilliant 2-0 win over the Colorado Rockies Sunday, Torre remains uncertain about his starters Tuesday and beyond, as the Dodgers open up a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks Monday.
Heading into Saturday night's game, Carlos Monasterios seemed to be the logical candidate to take the hill on Tuesday, but Charlie Haeger failed ...

As the last out was recorded at the Oakland Coliseum, the stadium erupted. The bench rushed Braden on the mound. Braden had bear hugs for his teammates. As ...

Posted: 9th May 2010 by Geoff Zochodne in MLB
The signing of Fred Lewis has been a heist of epic proprotions; it's actually tightened security at Luftansa airport. Even more unfortunate: They haven't made an air freshener potent enough to purge the scent of swindle lingering in the San Francisco Giants' front office.
For the Toronto Blue Jays, having a true leadoff hitter in their ranks once more has been reaffirming. It hearkens back to a simpler time, when OBP ...
